On the night of August 18th, 22 brilliant women from all over Harlem attended the first of two orientation sessions for The Lillian Project. The Lillian Project is a 12-week business education series focused on Black women in business created with support from the Kellogg Foundation. Classes in the program will focus on professional as well as personal wellness aimed at giving African American women the tools they need to design their own destiny.
Having received nearly 200 applications, the Lillian Project will select just 25 women to be in the first cohort of participants. The Harlem Business Alliance is still looking for entrepreneurs who are African American women residing in Harlem to apply. Applications are scheduled to close at 11:59 on August 23rd, 2016.
