The Faculty Dining Hall at City College of New York was the setting for the Harlem Business Alliance’s 32nd Annual Awards Celebration on November 8, 2012. Walter Edwards, Chairman, Maurice Grey, Fundraising Chair, HBA’s membership, business and personal friends welcomed the evening’s honorees.

Director of the Schomburg Center Khalil G. Muhammad received the Chairman’s Award.  Reginald E. Manning, co-owner of the popular Harlem IHOPs received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. New York State’s Honorable H. Carl McCall was given the Government Service Award. Herb Boyd, journalist and activist received the Percy E. Sutton Award. Kenroy Watson received the Business Person of the Year Award for his entrepreneurial spirit and expertise and Karen Mackey Witherspoon, Vice President of Government & Community affairs at City College of New York received the Community Service Award.

The primary sponsors of the event included City College of New York, Columbia University, Capital One Bank, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, School Construction Authority, HSBC, L&M Development Partners, TD Bank and Noble Strategy. The evening was made possible due to the hard work, attention, and dedication of our Event Chairman, Maurice Grey, Shandel Pitts, designer of event invitations and the awards journal, the Board of Directors and staff. Their invaluable contributions made the 32nd Annual Awards Celebration a success.
